"Melon Skies" Original Painting & Framed Print
Original painting is 12x12 on wood panel. The print is on 13x13 paper. The painting on this paper is 11x11 with a white border all around.
I set out to create a seascape that uses an unusual color scheme. I immediately thought of doing a sunset but I wanted it to be dramatic so I chose two opposite colors for maximum contrast and drama. Orange and green are opposites on the color wheel and so I knew I wanted to experiment using these two colors. I’m very pleased with the outcome of the painting especially since I don’t usually paint with such bold colors. This piece certainly makes a statement.
